Brigitte Henry
Brigitte Henry is a photographer, art director and multi-disciplinary artist. In 2001 she worked with Polaris Prize winning songwriter Patrick Watson to create a volume of photography entitled Waterproof9, portrait sous l’eau, which paired her surreal underwater images with music composed especially for the piece. Her partnership with Watson continued into the next decade, as Brigitte photographed and designed four of his albums and directed several music videos, including “Drifters” and “Into Giants”.
In 2006 she was nominated for a Canadian Juno award for Con Todo Palabra, a music video she co-directed for Lhasa de Sela. That same year she began a collaboration with artist Patrick Bernatchez, acting as Director of Photography on several of his acclaimed short films.
As an art director she helped design the visual worlds of Higglety Pigglety Pop! (2013) directed by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, Guy Maddin’s The Forbidden Room (2015), and Gymnasia (2019) a VR experience that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Currently, Brigitte directs digital video content for Cirque De Soleil and is art director for the upcoming La Jeune Fille Qui Pleurait Des Perles, a stop-motion film produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
